"JAMES HAROLD CROCKER, GREENVILLE --
James Harold Crocker, 70, a retired supervisor and manager, died of heart failure Thursday at his home. Services are 10 a. m. today at First United Methodist Church with burial at 3 p.m. in Water Valley Cemetary . Boon-Wells Funeral Home is handling arrangements. A longtime resident of Greenwood and Greenville, he attended school in borh cities and graduated from Greenwood High. He was a World War II Army Veteran, having seen active duty in the Pacific, and was a Korean War Army veteran.
At the time of his death he was a colonel in the Mississippi National guard. He was a retired supervisor/manager for South Centeral Bell Telephone Co. He had been a active member of the First Baptist Church in both Greenwood and Greenville. He also was active in many cultural and civic organizations. He was a past president of the Greenwood and Greenville art association, a member and past president of the Greenville Kiwanis Club and a member of the Mississippi Pioneers. Survivors: wife, Dorothy Josey; daughters, Patricia Smith of West Point; Cynthia Penequy of Baton Rouge; four grandchildren and one great-grandchild. send to Effie Hammonds by Dorothy J.
