Mr. Clarence Arvel Ritter, 94, of 805 E. Cornwallis Drive, died Thursday, Jan. 29, 2004, at Moses Cone Memorial Hospital.

The funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at Lambeth-Troxler Funeral Service Chapel, conducted by the Rev. Carolyn Sims. Burial will be in Lakeview Memorial Park.

A native of Randolph County, Mr. Ritter was born on June 5, 1909, to the late Willie Walter and Flossie Williamson Ritter. He was retired from Cone Mills, Revolution Plant, and was a member of Newlyn Street United Methodist Church. He was preceded in death by a sister, Ruby Peurifoy, and brothers, Carson Ritter, Clifford Ritter and Kermit Ritter.

Survivors are wife of 72 years, Mary Ellen Langley Ritter, of Greensboro; sister Vernitia Bristow of Thomasville; brothers, Kelly Ritter of Holden Beach, Edsel Ritter of Pleasant Garden and Garland Ritter of Robbins.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. today at Lambeth-Troxler Funeral Service.
