Notes for Roland Gene Bryan

Roland Gene Bryan, 62, died Thursday, October 2, 2008, at his residence in Abilene.

The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 p.m. Saturday at Elliott-Hamil Funeral Home, 542 Hickory. No services are planned.

Born in Brownwood, Texas on May 6, 1946, Roland was the son of Imogene Olita (Perkins) and Roland Oliver Bryan. He was reared and attended schools in Abilene, where he also married Becky Stark on June 26, 1976. He worked in the oilfield and cement business, and for the past seventeen years for Abilene Eye Institute as a transportation driver. He was a Baptist.

Roland especially loved his family, and also had a great love for fishing.

His father preceded him in death.

Survivors include his wife, Becky Bryan of Abilene; sons, Kenneth Killam and Roland Gene Bryan, Jr. of Abilene, and David Killam of Portsmouth, Virginia; daughters, Jeanie Martin of Crystal Beach, Texas, and Ronda Ivie of Abilene; his mother, Imogene Bryan of Abilene; six grandchildren, Desiree, Kevin, Glenn, J.D., Abi, and Sarah; and a great-grandson, Jaden.
